Home automation is used to automate your home to your liking. Examples for use at home could be

  • Security
  • Lazy
  • Energy Efficient
  • Old people
  • Just plain fun

For example, you have electronic curtains and you have an air conditioning at home. Your systems senses that your home is almost going towards 26C degrees. In this case instead of turning on the air conditioning (since it knows that your away) it closes the curtains so the house wont increase in temperature to safe electricity because the air conditioning unit does not have to cool from a higher temperature then without the curtains closed.

This is just one of many examples of how you could use home automation. Mainly at this moment everything is populated by one person, the WikiSysop who can be found on the domoticaforum aswell. (nickname snelvuur)
